Members On Their Own (MOTO)
We normally meet on the first Wednesday of each month in the Holy Trinity Parish Centre, please click here for a map. Use your browser 'back' button to return here. Please check the Newsletter for actual dates as these may vary.
We spend an hour listening to the places that members would like to go to accompany them if their idea is of interest. We work on the principle that a group is two or more! Most events are very local and usually we meet at the venue on the chosen date. However if transport is needed there are usually willing car drivers who will offer lifts. We have arranged at least one event a month since we began and often more.
In the last twelve months we have enjoyed lunches, teas, lunchtime classical concerts, a swing-time open air concert and "Irish Fiddlers" in the pub. Some members have been to the Tolpuddle Martyrs event, attended various events at the Corn Exchange, listened to a fascinating interview with Simon Weston as part of the Yeovil Literary Festival, visited National Trust properties and also various gardens.
If you are on your own and would like some company at times then why not join us? There are usually new members at our monthly meeting so you will not be the only one and remember if there is something you would like to do there may well be others who would like to go with you. There is no obligation to join in with anything but if you do I am sure you will enjoy it!
If you can’t get to the Wednesday meeting, don’t worry. Just give me a call the next day and I’ll tell you what’s going on so you can join in if you would like to. You’ll find my number in the newsletter.
Hope to see you soon.
